The Renowned Musician Urges Public Help to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The project seeks to send support to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The song was recorded following a solidarity show held in September. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The notable list of artists contributing to Lullaby encompasses a range of well-known figures from the music world. All participated in the benefit event, which successfully generated a significant sum for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of producers and composers. The single showcases a combination of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the initiative have stated that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These resources will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a representative explained. “We will pursue as much as possible. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The context in the area was described as its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of infrastructure reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a few million doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from mid-December.
