The author

Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was made after an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
